RADIOLOGY

Radiology is the medical specialty that uses imaging technology to diagnose and treat diseases and conditions within the body. It plays a critical role in the modern healthcare system by allowing healthcare providers to visualize the internal structures of the body, detect abnormalities, and guide treatment decisions. Radiologists are medical doctors who interpret the images produced by radiologic techniques and often collaborate with other specialists to make diagnoses.

Key Features of an RADIOLOGY:
Diagnostic Radiology: Focuses on the use of imaging techniques to identify diseases and conditions. Some common imaging modalities in diagnostic radiology include:X-ray,Ultrasound,CT (Computed Tomography) Scan,MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) & Fluoroscopy.
Interventional Radiology: This subspecialty uses minimally invasive, image-guided techniques to perform medical procedures. Interventional radiologists use imaging methods like ultrasound, CT, or fluoroscopy to guide instruments such as needles or catheters to treat conditions without the need for large surgical incisions.
Nuclear Medicine: Involves the use of small amounts of radioactive materials to diagnose or treat diseases. Nuclear medicine imaging techniques, such as positron emission tomography (PET) and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), provide functional images of organs and tissues, often used in cancer detection, cardiac imaging, and brain studies.
